4. Parts Conditioning

All parts coming out of a press, before they can be painted need to be conditioned. All parts are trimmed, cleaned and polished. Some assemlby work is also done at this stage.

5. Painting

Eligor's models are hand painted only using spray guns and masks.

6. Graphics Printing

Eligor's models are decorated via two processes: silk screen printing and tampo-printing. Silk screen printing is a process that allows fine printing on flat surfaces (our trailers). A "silk screen" is a screen that only lets the ink go through in specifice places. The ink is applied onto our models one color at a time, using a diffenent screnn each time. Hence, as a general rule, there are as many screens required as there are colors in a model. The set up time to load and adjus each screen is very long. The final graphic comes together in the end after all of the colors have been applied. Tampo-printing is similar to silk screen printing except that, instead of a screen a pad is used. Tampo-printing is used to print on curvier surfaces: our models cars and cabs mostly.

7. Assembly

A single truck has more than 50 parts to it. A trailer counts about 30 parts. Once all these parts have been prepared and painted, they all need to be assembled together into a final product, the assembly work is all done manually, one part at a time. Once this operation is complete and after the models have been checked for proper quality, they are packaged and ready to ship. Eligor manufactures all of its small and medium order quantity orders in France. We can customize a model in less than 4 weeks!! Our factory is located in the valley of Oyonnax.
