Eligor is one of the few diecast manufacturer to still manufacture its products in France. Eligor's production process can be broken down into 7 stages :
|
1. Tooling
Based on drawings, diagrams or simply pictures Eligor manufactures all of its molds in house. Each model requires about 15 molds to be made. There are two kinds of molds: molds for the injection of plactic parts and molds for the injection of Zamac.
2. Plastic Injection
The plastic injection molds are mounted on the presses to produce the plastic parts necessary for our models. All of our windows, mirors, lights, are made of ABS.
3. Casting
Zamac is a Zinc and Alluminium alloy. This alloy is heated up to 460 degrees Celcius before it can be injected. All of the chassis, cabins, and most of the components of our models are made out of zamac.
